SPF checker

Look up your domain’s SPF record and see what needs attention. Review the published policy, syntax issues and lookup findings in one place.

Real public DNS lookup. No account needed.

Use the domain only, without https:// or an email address.

The public domain you enter is sent to AskQuokka to look up public DNS records. No mailbox connection is needed.

Look up your public SPF record.

Enter your domain to see the published record and any issues found. Results appear here after a real DNS lookup.

SPF record generator

Create a TXT record from the settings you choose. This builder runs in your browser and produces text for you to review. It does not update DNS.

Separate values with commas or spaces. Use your real sending addresses.

These are provider-supplied SPF domains, such as an _spf subdomain. This builder does not discover them.

Your TXT record

Add the settings you intend to publish, then generate the text. Compare it with your existing record before making changes with your DNS provider.

How to check your SPF record

  1. 1. Enter the sending domain

Use the domain you want to inspect, such as example.com. Leave out an email address, https:// and any page path.

  2. 2. Review the findings

Read the returned record and explanations. Missing records, syntax issues and incomplete checks are shown separately.

  3. 3. Share the report

Copy the result for your email administrator. Make changes through your DNS provider, then check again after the update becomes visible.

SPF questions

What is an SPF record?

SPF is a public DNS TXT record that describes which senders may use a domain in the email envelope. It starts with v=spf1. It does not authenticate the visible From address on its own.

What does this SPF checker test?

It looks up the entered domain's TXT records, reviews SPF syntax and follows supported include and redirect references within a bounded budget. Findings explain incomplete checks. It does not evaluate a particular sending IP or fully resolve every DNS-dependent SPF mechanism.

Why do multiple SPF records cause an issue?

A domain must not publish multiple SPF policy records at the same DNS name. Review your email providers' instructions when combining authorised senders into one policy.

What does the DNS lookup limit mean?

SPF evaluation limits DNS-causing terms to 10. Nested references can contribute to that limit. This tool's review is conservative, rather than a sender-specific pass or fail.

Does a record found mean my email will reach the inbox?

No. This is a check of published DNS settings. Reputation, message content and a receiving provider's own policies also affect delivery.

What happens to the domain I enter?

The domain is sent to AskQuokka to perform a public DNS lookup. You do not connect a mailbox or create an account. Domain names and returned records are not included in tool analytics.
